I agree with James..the Briwax finish usually looks nice on interior woodwork,and depending on the color and application can lend a nice patina to antique woodwork, and renewing it every 3 months is WAY overkill. In my experience, once every year or so should suffice, but only if it looks dry and sheenless.To remove it is a huge job, but if you decide to, it might pay to use a stripper. DE waxing Solvents can tend to liquify the wax and drive deeper into the wood, where as a stripper can "float" off the wax in suspension a little better, (in fact many strippers contain wax..). Once dry, a light sanding and a barrier coat of dewaxed shellac will help with adhesion before the next finish, unless you use an oil finish, then it's not needed. Best of luck.
