I purchased an old walnut bed about 20 years ago. It was very beat up and scratched and worn. It was after having the bed for about a year that my wife and I discovered that in the center of the headboard was something very strange. It seems that the builder took a slice of vaneer about 6 inches wide and 20 inches long and butterflied this one piece three times across the center section. The result is a little un-nerving the images that different people see is very odd. I will post a picture as soon as I can I really would like to know if this procedure has been used before. I mean the use of a burl or knot to create a picture of sorts. I cannot believe that the person who created this did not see it in the wood when he put the pieces together. If anyone knows of this practice and where I can go to find information on it. Thanks Jim Hendry
