"warped" desk lid

Hi, I recently aquired an old chippendale desk that was apparently stored in a barn, etc. for years and exposed to moisture. The "lid" on the front of this slant-front desk has "warped" or "bowed" 7/8 inch. I am asking for any advice or suggestions you may have concerning the best method to straighten or "flatten" this lid. The size of the lid is 30"X13" and construction is of 3/4" hardwood. Any help you can provide is most appreciated.
