Hmmm. If your bathroom has a shower where steam would play a big factor, then I would stay clear of veneer, especially if it is already lifting. Look for a solid wood piece. However, if your bathroom won't have a lot of steam then I wouldn't see the harm. But you would have to be concerned about the veneer top that is lifting already as a vanity top, where water would play a part. Veneer is tough restoration for most people, yet there are those blessed with the talent and knowledge for repairing veneer. Unless you know someone who has worked successfully with it, I would stay clear if it were me, but that is just me. I hope others that have knowledge of it will see your posting and help you.
