Veneer dresser in bathroom, good or bad idea?

I was thinking about purchasing a dresser I saw and turning it into a bathroom vanity. The size is perfect to fit a sink bowl. The overall condition of the dresser is good and it's sturdy but it has some veneer that is lifting and bubbling on the top and drawer fronts. I came to your site looking for answers on how to fix my veneer problems but I am starting to think I shouldn't purchasing this dresser at all. I have read so many post on how steam can fix bubbling and climate conditions play a big part with veneer. Can I use a dresser that has veneer in a bathroom or should I stay clear of veneer?
