on closer inspection(finally got the furniture out of the storage facility, there are scratches on the table, and the buffet, and the chairs need re-covered, and the bottom of the front of the buffet is rotted. I am going to replace the bottom of the buffet. I think I will also completely strip, sand and refiinish all of the pieces involved.
This furniture was made by Broyhill, but contacting Broyhill, they have no records that go back past 10 years. I was going to try and get info on when it was made, and what finish was used on the furniture.
The back of the china closet has a tag that says :8912 American Walnut.
The bottom of the chairs have a broyhill tag, manufacturing plant Lenoir, NC, model #'s 8910 and 3706. I'm guessing the 8910 is the chair and the 3706 is the style/color # for the cushion.
i have no idea what kind of finish was used, ie varnish, urethane, ???? on this and would like to figure it out and restore the furniture accurately.
How do I figure out what the finish is on this furniture????
Thanks again Rick
