The location of this crack is right where the plow lets the drawer into the side. I see these breaks all the time on old furniture, the sides and back and front all have their grain running the same way, so shrinkage is not likely the cause, especially since the crack is on the first key. As for the use of epoxy, the issue here is that epoxy is a nonreversable glue. However that would only pertain to a joint which may need to be taken apart and repaired at a later date. This is a crack, we don't want it to ever come apart again, therefore the concern for a reversable glue is mute. Stregnth takes precedent here, the damage is done, the value of the antique will not be affected by the choice of adhesive. Do a nice clean job and no one will be scolding you for the glue you use, unless it is because a weak glue was not up to the stress of a drawer going in and out a thousand times a year, re breaking, and doing even more danage, and then you need to have a new drawer side made to fit a nonstandard part.
