This can only get worse, you will find that the side is badly damaged or will have started to do harm to the case, I would glue it before things become adversely affected. A highly viscose glue may allow you to make the repair without disassembling the deawer. I prefer a slow cure epoxy for wood splits, T88 is very good, clean up with white vinegar. After a few seconds in the migrowave, only 2 or 3 seconds at a time, will allow this adhesive to run into an open crack more easily. A thin tool can be made by hammering a piece of wire on a strong flat surface till it is a fine spatula shape for pushing the glue into the crack. Most likely a clamp will be needed to hold things in line as cureing takes place. but a simple stack of books, with some waxed paper for protection, will often do the task.
