HI THERE I NEED HELP,

JUST FINISHED RESTORING THE OUTSIDE OF MY 1927 MONITOR TOP FRIDGE. NEXT THING, THE WIRING ETC IS JUST FINE I EVEN THINK IT WORKS BUTTTT: I GOT A FEELING SOMETHING IS MISSING INSIDE THE BOX WITH ON AND OFF SWITCH IN IT. INSIDE THERE S SOME KIND OF RELAIS, AND THERE S A METAL FORM HANGING INSIDE IT, SOMETIMES AFTER AWHILE IT PLUNGES UP AND FALLS DOWN AGAIN, CAUSING THE BLUE RESISTOR UNDERNEATH IT TO HEAT UP A LITTLE AND SWICTCHIN OFF THE POWER.... ANYWAY THATS WHAT I BELIEVE IT SHOULD DO BUT IT DOES NOT.

MY QUESTION IS SHOULD THERE BE A SPRING BETWEEN THE RELAIS AND THE RESISTOR? HOW IS IT CONNECTED IF SO? THANKS ANYWAY STEVEN THE NETHERLANDS
