I recently re-finished one also. I am still trying to learn about this company and the age and value of the chest. The one I have is roughly 3.5' long 20" wide and 18" tall. It has some copper hardware, a small tag on the inside of the lid reading "Klein Bros, Long Island City," and it has 4 feet (screwed in). Although the chest is relatively square, the ends extend taller than the chest and are rounded. The wood is either cedar or some relative of it.
After stripping and sanding the chest, I used about 5 coats of tung oil and brought it to a nice even satin finish. I spent many more hours on this project than I anticipated but it turned out better I had expected.
