I just bought a drop leaf table that has "Whitney" stamped on the underside. The wood is a light mellow color, maybe maple, but not certain. Not massive nor real heavy. The chairs have 5 spindles from seat to the top that is straight across yet bent to fit the back, The tops of the chair legs come up through the seat as in antique primitives. The chair and table legs are smooth all the way to the floor except there are 5 scores around each and every leg.
The table is 36" x 69" and I would coinsider it a kitcen or country style but am trying to find out anything I can about what it's age is and where it would have been manufactured. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
