I want to refinish and old steamer trunk back to almost its original beauty without spending to much money. It's dirty, smells musty inside. I want to leave on the original fabric inside the trunk. The outside is leather but the leather is very dry and cracked in areas. The hardware is brass (I think) but rusty and dirty. I would appreciate any suggestions to clean it up and help with the smell.
