Hi,
I have recently begun removing a heavy coat of brown paint over a 1906 or later Limbert rocking chair (says Grand Rapids and Holland)
1. Is ther anywhere I can go to see what this chair looked like in it's original form ? I know Limbert published catalogs, but I'm having trouble finding any except 1903. I ask because the original seat upholstery is gone and the upholstered headrest is badly worn.
2. In sanding the chair, I'm not getting the stain/paint out of the grain (i'm probably sanding it INTO the grain). Is there any way to get the stain out of the grain ? I'm going to try stripper and steel wool.
thanks!
