Old radio repair is my hobby.......radios from that period can be whats called a farm set.....meaning it will only play with special batteries or it can be plugged into an electrical house outlet......please beaware that you should have the set looked at by a professional as many parts in a radio of that age can be worn out....The good news is that most sets can be made to play again.... a good source for parts is antique radio in Tempe Arizona.....Good Luck!
