ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Widdicomb finish

I have a 50's Widdicomb dining set in bleached walnut veneer that I'm having restored. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea about how to replicate the original finish. It has been stripped and bleached - but the original finish seemed to have a golden glow to it that I'm afraid of losing. I don't know if it was stained, or if possible pigment was added to the finish. Also, what type of lacquer/varnish?
