ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

I am in the process of restoring a marble top, 3-drawer, mirrored dresser. The piece is made of mahogany, the mirror tilts in a frame and has a small shelf on either side of the mirror. The drawer pulls had been replaced with glass knobs ( the original holes for a 2 hole pull are still there). There appears to have been something that sat on top of the mirror frame since there are a couple of peg holes there.
The only marking I have been able to find was the letters "JJ" on the back and are about 3" tall. They appear to be in "old English" font style. Any and all assistance in locating who the manufacturer was and information regarding the origianl configuration, will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any help....
