Hello Everyone
I recently inherited a Diebold safe. It is 5 feet tall, 3’1” wide and 27 inches deep. The safe sits on rollers and has double doors and another set of double doors that open with a key. The interior of the safe once had a green shamrock carpet on the bottom (there is just a small strip left now). Interior of the safe has 4 wood drawers that open with a key and one metal drawer that also opens with a key. The front of the safe has Diebold Lock and Safe Company, Canton, O. On the bottom of the front doors it says Noyes Safe Company, Houston, Texas. A little back ground is known on the safe. It was in my great grandfathers machine shop prior to WWII and I believe it was mounted in a wall in an insurance agency prior to that (the name of the agency Keller, Hanks, & Keller is visible). The safe was then in my great uncle’s clothing store until the mid 80’s when it was taken to my grandfather’s home (where it sat in the garage until now).
I am interested in several things:
First I would like to know the age of the safe. I assume it was made prior to WWII that is when my great grandfather’s machine shop was in operation.
Second, I would like to know if there are any companies that could restore the safe back to its original condition. It would be nice if the company was located in Texas as that is where I live.
I have a bunch of digital photos that I have taken and if anyone wants to see them just send me an email.
I am not interested in selling the safe just restoring it back to it original condition. If anyone knows anything about how old the safe is or where I can get it restored please let me know.
Thanks,
Cameron
