In Response To: How to Treat an Antique Chair (G. Kao)

Thanks again. Since my wife is planning to have a baby in a couple of years, and we also have a one years old puppy, we want to make sure we do things right.

So, once we put a coat of shellac on the potentially lead painted chairs, it will surely prevent the lead harming her or the unborn baby or our puppy, right? It will be safe for her to sit on these chairs for all these coming years?

Also, I called a number of nearby restoration business people lister in the directory of this site, but they don't know what need to be done and they don't provide such service. So what price range should I be expecting to have this pair of chairs done properly by a professional?
