Umm...freshly waxing right along ANY repair is not a good idea...especially because you'll have to restore the finish on and around that repair. Wax and polishes should stay as far away from this environment as possible, especially because silicone contamination is another possibility. Wax will cause all kind of problems. the most important being adhesion, on a repair area, and trying to wash it away before said finish restoration can make things worse..forcing the wax slurry into pores, minute cracks, etc..if you can't mask the area with a low tack tape, then you must clean with a damp rag while repairing, and then any minute hazing that might be left can be removed when the repair is set with a damp rag for hide glue, fine steel wool and a sharp chisel for other types.
