Lori, my wife, recently purchased for our daughter a detailed hand carved desk\dresser (I don't know what to call it, I'm just trying to help her) with a flip up mirror and several drawers. It an old wooden thing, that looks pretty cool, but to me would look real "cool" if it was refinished in "virgin wood state".
Well now we finally come to my wifes problem ..... after striping off several coats and again more coats of paint(with Marine Paint Stripper recommended by a brother-in-law the painter) of white, Blue, Red, and any other colors known to man there exists a freakin gold paint that just will not budge to the (marine stripper) we are currently useing!!
Lori had made a comment to sand off the the gold, but with the detail of the Queen ann legs, with the sallow intricut carving around the drawers, it seemed to me the item would lose a lot of detail.
I feel this just can't happen!
Any and all suggestions are welcomed .... what worked best for you?
Lori's husband, Dave
Is there some that will do the job better
