Franklin (the makers of Titebond) make a liquid hide glue that should be easy to find through your local hardware store, the early versions of this glue had to be heated to use and dried upon cooling...the liquid versions have a chemical to allow them to air dry..(urea, I believe)..they take longer to dry than white or yellow glues, but as James noted, they are reversible and regluable with good results. You can do the battens in sections as you go letting each section dry...that will make the job less daunting.- Regards
