Wood that has had a simple surface wash will not be prone to warping in sunlight, especially if the item has the same degree of dampness all around it...and it's not left out for half a day. The sun has properties that will kill mold spores and mildew, and naturally deoderize, if one puts a soaked board into baking noon sunlight on a 90 degree day, and leaves it there, then you are asking for trouble...thats not what I was suggesting...just to be clear
