Spray paint wicker?

Hi again, I just bought a wicker 3-shelf (looks kinda like a book shelf) thingy. It has a piece on the leg that is starting to unwrap can I just glue that back down? Do I need special glue? It was painted white a zillion years ago. I want to repaint it white. Is it ok to use spray paint out of a can? Except for the raveling leg it is in good shape. I only have $15 in it and want the easiest way out but I also don't want to ruin it. Thanks, Holli
