roll top repair

I am in need of help restoring the the rolltop tape that has fallen off a painted "Hoosier Cabinet"...Hide glue and canvas was suggested but I live in Las vegas and I have no idea where I would get such a creature...any other ideas...what is hide glue used for...any subsitute available..thanks
