A simple usually permanent repair is to place masking tape on the bottom of the crack paste wax beside the cracks on the top side then work epoxy into the cracks with an artists spatula. Let dry and skim off the overfill with a sharp chisel the touch up colors to match the existing table top top coated with clear lacquer. I have repaired several tables this way and none have spit again on the original split, but one developed a small split in another area.
