I have a very old doorbell. It is a "Bell" on the wall with a smacker thing that strikes the outside-side of the bell. There are these 2 things that look kinda like spools wrapped with what looks like copper wire. These things I guess make the electrical connection or whatever. Anyway, I locked myself out of the house in the middle of the night and rang the doorbell, trying to wake someone, until it broke. (sniff, sniff) It seems that I have burned out one of these little spoolie copper things and need a new one or maybe both. (Are they a set?) What the heck would you call that thingy? And where would you get one? I have a matching one upstairs that hasn't worked since I got the house and I suspect all it needs is one of these thingies also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As it is now, unless I am in the front of the house I can't hear anyone knocking. Thanks, HG
