Hi again, We just bought a gorgeous old bird's eye maple dresser with 6 or 7 serpentine drawers and claw feet and a mirror - the problem is that two or three of the drawers have very bad old repairs. They are rectangular in shape, 3 to 4 inches, and are not birds' eye maple, so we want to restore this properly. Questions: if the dresser needs to be stripped, do we do this before or after the veneer repair? How do we remove the old veneer? (we've read about vinegar or glue); Should the whole piece come off or just the old repair? (it looks bad!!!) If we are replacing the whole piece of veneer, how do we get the veneer to stay - in other words, since it is not a flat drawer front, how do we apply even pressure to the veneer to hold it down until it dries? Any help would be greatly appreciated by us and this lovely old dresser! Thank you, Nancy
