In Response To: worm holes (j duke)

One reaso that English furniture has worms (powder post beatle) is dampness, American furniture can and does have worms. Wood worm should be a concern when buying any furniture, the little critters don't care whether they eat furniture or your house. The holes that you see are exitholes, but there could still be viable larvae in the wood. If you ever see fresh sawdust under a piece of furnitue get it out of your hous and have it treated.
