Hi Tal,
my name is Gord, I am refrigeration apprentice I have two 30s monitor tops that I am working on.
Sulfur Dioxide is something that is avalible, but I strongly recomend not using it. It very harmful and even deadly, this is why it was discontinued.
R-12 is a refrigerant that can be used as a drop in, but all the existing so2 MUST be removed and you may want to change the oil in the system.
You will also have to add a large in-line liquid filter/drier.
I just had a terrible time evacuating the two units that I am working on.
any questions, feel free to contact me.
