Last questions; given that the cane is to be installed and left natural, is it recommended that a sealer (some type of clear coat) is applied to the new cane? Normally, what will that coat be - - Varnish?

Focusing on the option of staining the newly installed cane; Is spray lacquer stain followed with a seal coat of varnish usually the process to meet this requirement? Thanks, some good tips have been presented here, Doyle
