Any stripper you use will be slow. Just use a good brand like Stripeze or Kutzit. Minwax makes a good dark mahogany stain that works well on mahogany pieces like this. Sand as little as possible and do not use anything heavier than 220 grit. You can finish with varnis, shellac or lacquer.
