Repairing a veneer seat

I have an oak chair that has a veneered seat. The outside frame is solid wood but the contoured center is veneer. Someone stepped on it and cracked it. I tried to order a molded seat but it would not fit. Now can I add veneer to a contoured seat to cover the break and restore the seat. Thank you in advance. Ken, thewoodcraftsman@hotmail.com
