ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

cedar dresser

I'm painting an old cedar dresser, but after some sanding, the oils keep coming through the primer. I started with a water-based primer, then lightly sanded that and put an alcohol-based shellac primer on it. The dresser looks pink. Is there something I can do to seal it so the oils won't keep coming through?
