Hi, I just purchased at an auction a sweet 20's walnut buffet. It has burlwood vaneer in the three sections and on the top with the rest of the piece a dark walnut. The top has a couple of deep black gouges in one section and the other two are kind of pitted. On the front the center panel vaneer is in good shape, on the sides it looks dried out and faded. The piece isn't valuable but I like the lines and would happy if I could make the ugly vaneer a dark walnut. Can I sand and then use a walnut wax to add the color back? Also, how do you deal with vaneer that is cloudy and dull? Thanks for your help. Susan
