Staci, if you just want a high gloss black finish then go to an Ace hardware store(or equal) and buy a can or two of high gloss black lacquer spray.Like any other advise, try it on a spot first. This should work out providing the chair surface is clean and the finish accepts the lacquer.Its really easy.
