I have an empire style chair that I am refinishing. The original wood was stained with an oxblood stain and as a result even though I have stripped it down to the bare wood, sanded and prepared it for re staining, any water put on it imediately draws out the red dye and I have to repeat the stripping process. Is there a solution to this ?
