We are refinishing an old desk. After using stripper and sanding, there is a lotof the old stain left. To make matters more difficult, parts of the desk also have veneer on them which makes additional sanding more difficult. We have tried staining a small section and the result is uneven color (light and dark spots). What can we do to even out the wood before refinishing? The desk is approximately 100 years old. HELP!!!!
