I was researching the same company, F.B.M. CO., Hoboken NJ. I have a very old Cedar Chest that I'm removing years of paint from and it has it stamped inside its lid and it appears to have a stamp that says Pat Pending, also. I obtained the chest from a Navy family in Key West Florida around 45 years ago and it had been painted white. I'm fining multiple layers of paint and some children's decals as I remove paint, but the base wood appears to be either mahogany or walnut. The interior is cedar lined and still smells stongly of the cedar. Any info about the company or chest would be appreciated.
