Antique Chair

Hello,

My husband's grandmother gave us one of her antique chairs. I'm not sure of the age, style or even who made it. It looks like it is made out of mahogany wood. It has a padded seat. It has thin arms that curve down and up again (like a swirl), no material on the arms. The legs are simple and straight, no feet. The back of the chair is wood and it has a design of some type of instrument like a lyre or a harp, but I'm not sure. I have research other chairs that have a lyre or harp design, but they do not look the same. The chair has scratches on the legs, but not too deep and the joints are loose. Could you please tell me what is the best way to remove the scratches from the legs and if I should try to remove the joints of the chair and re-glue or should I try inserting the glue into the joints without taking apart the chair? There are also parts of the chair that lighter then other part due to wear and tear. What is your advise? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much! Kim
