ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Please help! I'm trying to put coil springs in the seat of my antique sofa. This sofa has beautiful gently curving hand-carved wood trim all along the bottom. That is my problem -- how to attach webbing to a randomly curving surface.
Also, there are two pieces of wood that are in the shape of a gradual downward curve. Each board is about 1/3 of the way from a side of the sofa, and each one runs from front to back.
All this makes it easy to understand why this sofa has been very uncomfortable, and why the webbing was worthless as a support for the old springs.
Thank you! Carol
