In dating antiques, what are some of the things to look for? For example: dovetails,when did hand cut dovetails change to machine cut? Panel construction--some of the early antique pieces are a two ply construction, a pine core with a face veneer, when did panels go to a five ply construction? Shellac finishes changed to lacquer? Hide glue was replaced by new glues? Thanks for your help. THIS IS A VERY INFORMATIVE WEB SITE!
