I'm refinishing an Art Deco dresser - two-tone mahogany veneer with pinstriped inlay on the top and drawers. The inlay is not wood but (I'm told) bakelite. I've read of bakelite's popularity from 1910 - 1940, but can find no other clues on the piece to help narrow this down.
Does anyone know about bakelite's popularity in furniture making?
Thanks in advance,
