Jin, The poplar type veneer on the underneath side is a little thicker than the surface veneers. I have never seen that type product in the mail order catalogs. It may be even too thick to roll. Maybe I have missed it. I need to replace mine or simply take it all off. If I take it all off, I am afraid it will bring up fitting issues. What would you use?
And I have the issue with the two layers of veneer on the top. I could probably use the same stuff for the underlayment on the top below the quarter sawn oak veneer although originally the second layer was different from the material used on the bottom.
