Shelly, You can try and drip(using a toothpick)white craft glue into the cracks. You might add a tiny drop of water to thin the white glue ,maybe 5%.Check to see if you can get at the edges of the plaster both on the inside and the rim. You may be able to drip the glue there too. It will take several steps in that you will always have to have the glue going into the cracks/spaces. This glue will set up in 6-10 min.if not to heavily applied.Don't be discouraged if pieces fall of, you are almost better off that way having more control of the gluing process.Areas that are missing can be filled with a paste made from plaster and white glue or use vinyl spackling.
