Hide glue is reversible. That is a very important characteristic. Another nice funcion or hide glue is that it will allow some wood movement with destroying the bond. Hot hide can be used without a glue pot. You can microwave small quantites for small jobs or part time use so that you do not have to go to the trouble and expense of a glue pot.
