Deb, do not use tung oil if you wish to ever touch-up , recoat, or refinish a wood item. Tung oil is perment and won't hold a finish. If you have used tung oil on a piece of furniture you will need to keep applying it for years to come if you wish to keep it looking like it did when first completed. If you have used poly over tung oil the poly should come off with steel wool. After that try a few coats of paste wax, either that or it's back to the tung oil. Hope this helps Jim S.
