A new mirror can be made to look old, though perhaps not original. The point of the wavy glass is correct but when mirrored it is not a huge factor. My wife and I own "A Moment in Time Mirror Re-silvering" and she has had success at "aging " mirrors. The only problem with this is customer satisfaction. If you appraise a number of old mirrors you will see considerable variance. The same occurs when you "make" an old mirror. It is not a science and is hard to match expectations, but yes it can be done.
