Hello,
This is my first time here, and I have a few questions. I have just started to get into the antique scene and with my fire fighter background i am interested in old copper and brass fire extinguishers.
Here's my question.
My wife just bougt me my first extinguisher to start with, it is highly tarnished and very very dusty/dirty. What can I uses to bring the shine back into this fire extinguisher and also the rubber hose that is attached is stiff and dry rotted. I know that the hose will not be as supple as it was back in the day when it rolled out of the factory, is there a way to make it somewhat soft again and look almost like new? (the hose is red and not black with an unknown metal tip... possibly brass as well)
If anyone has any help for this newbie please let me know.
Thank You!!!
