In Response To: repair lane cedar chest water stain (alicia)

If the stain is black it will have to be bleache with oxalic acid after the finish is removed. If it is white water is trapped in the finish and may release if you spray it with blush eraser which is available from WoodWorkers Supply. Since it is on the top it would be a good idea to refinsh the entire top as this will make it much easier than trying to match the color once tha stain is removed. Also contact Lane for a replacement lock that is childproof.
