Thanks, Jim. Hmmmmmmmmm.........we always called the deposits that build up from water, waterstone........I guess correctly it would be limestone deposits. This picture frame/glass was stored where water got splashed on it over a period of time........so am assuming the film on the glass is caused by this. I am restoring the frame.....you advised me on restoring the decorative trim on the frame awhile back. It is working very well, thanks! I certainly will try the wet/dry paper. Beth
